Elise writes: I have discovered Rosie’s first book back in 2015 and loved it. I had the opportunity to translate it into French … and what an incredible journey! The French edition has been published in August 2022. Reading and re-reading Rosie’s book mirrored so much, and every single time, things of my life, personal or professional, related to dogs, other animals and even my way of parenting. What a powerful reading it is! I’m deeply grateful to Rosie and Colin for that experience!
The photograph is of Kimba and myself. Kimba arrived aged 6 weeks. She’s now 8 years old.
We’ve gone through a lot of frustration together, letting go of the image of the perfect dog … and the perfect human! She benefited from my readings about dog’s body language, so I didn’t push her boundaries too far. She adapted quite amazingly to living with a (growing) baby. And for a few months now, as I’m implementing new rules of living together and showing respect to everyone, and have the courage to have them respected, she is moving on to being a dog who is much more adapted to the human world. I’m fascinated about her progress and how sometimes very easily she has put aside old inappropriate behaviours to express much accurate ones. Change can obviously happen at any age!
With her, from the beginning, I have experienced deep love and generosity. And lately, she’s taught me so much about possibilities of change, what’s inappropriate and what is accurate, that it fills me up with hope in all areas of life! What a dog!
May all of you get the opportunity to grow with the help of your furry friends, and good books like Rosie’s.
